The paradigm shift in the tourism sector has led to its regeneration and (re)creation. Competitiveness between tourist destinations is governed by the ability to attract tourists, satisfying their needs. Taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, it is necessary to define priorities and aspirations for global development in a sustainable way without becoming imbalanced with the lifestyle of residents. The factors that lead to the choice of a destination are the pillars of its management and the key to creating and providing tourists with a unique tourist experience.

The Department of Tourism at ISCE Douro recovers previous training initiatives in this hot area in the Douro region and Tâmega e Sousa, offering the CTeSP in Sports and Adventure Tourism and the CTeSP in Enography and Wine Tourism , courses provided by specialist teachers in these domains and with protocols signed with the main operators operating in the territory. In addition, the Department of Tourism also offers an innovative Postgraduate Degree in Strategic Management of Destinations and Tourism Products , aimed at updating the knowledge of professionals and other tourism technicians, in order to provide them with skills that allow them to respond to the needs of this rapidly changing sector.

Based on concrete knowledge of existing training and employability needs, and exchanges with the main official and business structures of Tourism in the region, other study cycles will be prepared.

In a region so rich in heritage, natural, cultural, gastronomic and oenological resources, such as the one in which ISCE Douro is located, the qualification of professionals and the entrepreneurialization of projects in these various fields are assumed desiderata, in the clear and objective sense of strategic development of the region.
