The Transdisciplinary Research Center in Educational Sciences – NITCE is part of the CI-ISCE Research Center and is an R&D unit based at ISCE Douro, in Penafiel. It was created in 2018, anchored in the field of Educational Sciences and acts as a transdisciplinary research platform, exploring the close relationships between various disciplinary areas, such as Pedagogy, Teacher Training, Didactics, Pedagogical Supervision, Parental Involvement, Socio-educational Intervention, Education and Training Policies, among others.

NITCE focuses on the transdisciplinary study of topics related to Education and Training, in conjunction with the interactive and evolutionary construction of the social, economic, political and cultural reality of the Tâmega e Sousa region.

The main objective of NITCE is to promote high-level research and aggregate scientific knowledge and skills to contribute to the improvement of educational and socio-educational processes.

The political agenda, regarding education in Portugal, places emphasis on the student's profile after leaving compulsory schooling, on inclusion and curricular flexibility and, given this conceptual framework, NITCE intends, in a holistic and transdisciplinary approach, to contribute to responding to the growing challenges posed to schools and teachers in the 21st century. XXI, through the development of meaningful and context-adjusted scientific research practices.

Recently, NITCE produced the Ebook "ETHICAL DILEMMA - FROM NARRATION TO PROBLEMATIZATION" , which can be consulted here .
