Student Support Office with SEN

The Support Office for Students with Special Educational Needs was created to ensure the implementation of an inclusion policy that guarantees academic success and the full participation of students with special educational needs in academic, social and cultural life.

| These are the functions of GAENEE

  • Collaborate with teachers from each department/course in the application of specialized support, in adapting the teaching and learning process and monitoring that the specificity of ENEE requires, and may, for this purpose, request the collaboration of specialist technicians;

  • Cooperate with teachers from each department/course in adapting, obtaining and acquiring the necessary means to successfully carry out the teaching and learning process;

  • Promote, at the beginning of each semester, with the teachers of each department/course with ENEE, an information session on the specificities of these students and their implications for teaching and learning;

  • Monetize and articulate ISCE Douro’s resources, knowledge and good practices in supporting these students;

  • Develop initiatives that promote a better integration of ENEE into academic, social and cultural life;

  • Contribute to the insertion of graduates with special educational needs into the job market;

  • Organize seminars and lectures on the topic of special educational needs;

  • Prepare the technical pedagogical opinion, defining specialized support, the adequacy of the teaching and learning process and the monitoring that the specificity of the ENEE implies;

  • Prepare, at the end of each academic year, an activity report and consider, if necessary, possible improvement actions.
