| Course Presentation
This cycle of studies aims to promote skills of: observation, analysis and detailed understanding of the relationship between physical and sporting activity for the benefit of the practitioner's well-being, according to their profile and taking into account the context in which the practice is carried out. ; scientific skills to support research and intervention processes within the scope of physical and sporting activity with a view to the practitioner's well-being, health and performance; intervention depending on the target audience and their objectives, organizing and managing activities in the context of training and physical activity in an effective and efficient way, aiming at the well-being of the practitioner; healthy relationships, leadership and communication, mobilizing resources and taking advantage of opportunities based on morally healthy and ethical behavioral attitudes, respecting your peers and the populations with which you work.

- Holders of a Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent awarded by a national higher education institution in the areas of Sports Sciences
Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, or legal equivalent, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process, in the areas of Sports Sciences.
Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, which is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council of ISCE Douro as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences.
Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council of ISCE Douro as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies.
| Learning Objectives
Mobilize the knowledge, skills and abilities developed, in order to act as an agent that promotes the practitioner's well-being through physical and sporting activities;
Mobilize scientific and research knowledge to support practices in the contexts in which they are inserted, as well as developing a critical attitude towards new and unfamiliar situations regarding physical and sporting activities for well-being;
Know the implications of physical activity and sport on well-being, with the aim of intervening in a contextualized way and depending on the target audience and their objectives;
Being able to communicate, encourage and raise awareness in an ethical way, influencing populations to adopt healthy behavioral habits such as physical and sporting activities with a view to improving well-being.

| Professional Opportunities
The Master's degree aims to train specialist technicians, who are capable of providing an adequate response to the different needs associated with the practice of physical activity and sports and their implications in the context of health and well-being. It is intended that with this course students will be able to intervene in the prescription and physiology of exercise for health or sports performance; and organization of programs in the context of fitness, municipal programs and other institutions that promote physical exercise programs.

Coordination: Prof. Doctor Joana Ribeiro
Joana Ribeiro is Adjunct Professor and Co-coordinator of the Degree in Sports at ISCE Douro. PhD in Sports Sciences – Specialty in Sports, Excellence, Well-being and Human Development, Master in Sports for Children and Young People and Degree in Sports and Physical Education – Performance Sports option, from the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. For many years she was a Physical Activity and Sports Teacher for students in the 1st cycle of Basic Education, and is a coach of volleyball training classes in several sports clubs and in the Training Centers of the Porto Volleyball Association. She is also the author and co-author of several scientific articles in the area of Sports Training in peer-reviewed journals, and a reviewer in several international journals. .
