| Course Presentation

The Higher Professional Technical Course in Game Design and Digital Animation seeks to meet the training needs of future professionals with knowledge, skills, techniques and attitudes capable of intervening in solid professional training and qualification of the population in response to European, national and local goals with the increase in training, qualifications, percentage of graduates with professional/vocational courses by the year 2030, as well as also seeking to respond to the “Diagnostic study of qualification needs and definition of a strategy to support the development of the educational and training system in the Region Tâmega and Sousa”.

| Entry Conditions

Fulfill one of the following conditions:

  • Hold a secondary education course (with or without entrance exams) or a legally equivalent qualification;
  • Have passed the tests for those over 23 years of age;
  • Hold a CET or a higher education degree, with a view to professional requalification.

| Learning Objectives

The professional trained in the area of Game Design and Digital Animation is able to design, plan, implement and execute three-dimensional digital animations, in an innovative and creative way, using the appropriate methods, materials, techniques and tools and in accordance with with the scope of the projects to be created (cinematic, television, videographic, entertainment (games), institutional and advertising).

| Professional Opportunities

  • Design 3D modeling and animations
  • Design and build three-dimensional models of objects, environments and characters in 2D and 3D formats suitable for games and digital animations
  • Implement, integrate, compose and publish 3D animations
  • Analyze, create, manipulate and use digital multimedia animations
  • Organize, direct and monitor animation or game projects from their conception phase to the creation of the final product, in accordance with the technical criteria adopted and the artistic requirements required
  • Develop digital games using different design and programming techniques for different environments and platforms
  • Design and develop digital games
  • Develop quality multimedia content to be integrated into games and/or digital animations
  • Design and build attractive and creative narratives, scenarios and storyboards
  • Design and build characters in 2D and 3D formats suitable for digital games and animations
  • Plan, conceive and design attractive and creative digital games, capable of portraying human emotions and behaviors
