ISCE Douro celebrates International Social Educator Day
To mark the International Day of Social Educators, which was celebrated on October 2nd , our Institute organized several activities.
Students in the 2nd and 3rd year of the Degree in Social Education at our Institute, accompanied by the Degree Coordinator Prof. Doctor Cátia Vaz and the Department's teachers, Prof. Doctor Helena Carvalho and Prof. Doctor Mónica Cardoso, participated in the II International Social Education Seminar , which took place in Spain, Lobios/Ourense between the 29th of September and the 1st of October. The event, which featured several conferences and lectures, was also marked by communications written by ISCE Douro teachers. There were three days of learning, sharing and educational and cultural interaction, with professional Social Educators and also with students from other Universities in Spain and Portugal in an experience that contributed to improving the skills and functions of our future social educators.
In turn, the 1st year students wanted to mark the date in a symbolic way and for this, and with the aim of clarifying what Social Education is, they collected from the academic community the different perspectives on what it considers to be the Social Education and its impact on society through the creation of a video that can be seen here .
